Prof. (Dr). Thalakkotur Lazar Mathew B.V.Sc., M.Sc.(Med); Ph.D., D.Sc., FABMS, FIMSA, FISI, FAMS, is currently Senior Advisor at MAHE, Manipal. He has six decades of experience in teaching, research and technology management. He worked as Director of three DRDO establishments (Life Sciences at DRDO Headquarters, Defence Bio-Engineering & Electromedical Laboratory and Institute of Nuclear Medicine & Allied Sciences). After retirement, he was Director of a Mission Hospital at Ajmer, and later Dean and Director at VIT, Vellore. He was Sr. Advisor at PSG Institute of Advanced Studies, IIT Bombay, IEST Kolkata, Sree Vidyanikethan Group of Institutions, Tirupati, and was Pro- Vice Chancellor, Karunya University, Coimbatore. He was instrumental in establishing the High Altitude Medical Research Centre at Leh, the Society for Biomedical Technology, Bangalore, Asha Niketan AIDS facility at Ajmer, and Centre for Biomedical Research at Vellore. He has conducted several R&D projects including three international collaborative projects.
